Choosing the correct compressor is the single most important decision in a cold room installation. This guide walks through the key parameters our customers should evaluate.
1. Cooling Load (kW)
Calculate the required refrigeration capacity from the room volume, product mass, insulation, door opening frequency and pull-down time.
2. Evaporating and Condensing Temperatures
Identify your evaporator and condenser temperatures. For medium-temp storage +5 to -10 deg C, scroll compressors are usually the most cost-effective. For low-temp blast freezing below -25 deg C, semi-hermetic piston compressors are preferred.
3. Refrigerant Compatibility
Modern models are designed for R404A, R448A, R449A and R290. Verify compressor compatibility before ordering.
4. Power Supply
Three-phase 380V 50Hz is standard for export markets; confirm availability of 460V 60Hz if shipping to the Americas.
